"Brownies vs. Blondies" is the third episode in Season 6 of Kids Baking Championship and is the 42nd episode overall. It first aired on January 21st, 2019.

Plot

Summary

Duff prefers brownies, and Valerie prefers blondies, so they divided the bakers into two groups. The bakers had to make a brownie or blondie cake with an assigned ingredient. They also got assigned a shape that their cake had to be in. The twist was they had to incorporate sprinkles and get the sprinkles to stick. The winning team earned immunity from elimination.

Team Brownie: Davis, Meadow, Jaxon, Gavin, and Jenna

Team Blondie: Madison, Nyah, Karthik, Paige, and Misha

Full Plot

The contestants were split in half and either part of Team Brownie or Team Blondie. There were a total of 5 different flavors that they could be assigned. One person from each team was assigned each flavor. They were: walnuts (Davis and Karthik), peanut butter chips (Meadow and Misha), white chocolate chips (Jaxon and Madison), almonds (Gavin and Paige), and pumpkin (Jenna and Nyah). Whoever won the challenge automatically got their the rest of their team safe from elimination. Misha won the challenge for Team Blondie with his peanut butter chip blondie with caramel sauce and orange sprinkles. This meant that someone from Team Brownie would be going home. Because Gavin's almond brownie with almond buttercream and blue sprinkles was the worst from his team, he was eliminated.

• This was the third team challenge after Breakfast Desserts from Season 3 and Doughnuts Go Nuts! from Season 4.
• This episode had a similar theme as Breakfast Desserts, where Duff and Valerie disagreed over a food and divided the bakers into teams to figure out which is better.
