Jackson Fujimori is from Torrance, California. He competed on Season 1 of Kids Baking Championship when he was 11.[1]

Biography[]

Jackson was born on March 29, 2003 in Torrance, California. Jackson's interest in baking started at age 8, when his 2nd grade teacher supervised a baking class and encouraged Jackson to attend. During summer that year, Jackson brought his baking to the next level. He would bake all day long and learn how to make different things like cupcakes and macarons. He would sometimes stay up until midnight, baking.[2] In the show, he explained that people call him "The Midnight Chef" because of it. When Jackson competed in Kids Baking Championship, he did very well. He was in the top for the first two episodes and made it to the finale. In episode 1, "Bake Sale", Jackson wanted to make macarons, but they didn't turn out, so he improvised on the spot and invented the recipe for berry velvet cupcakes, which is the berry equivalent of a red velvet cupcake. The judges were very impressed by this and he landed in the top. In the episode "Desert Imposters", Duff and Valerie loved how realistic looking his spaghetti impostor was, so he landed in the top again. In episode 3, however, Jackson struggled a bit because he burned his hand. He mentioned that if Annika had not helped him, he may not have completed the challenge. In the finale, Jackson said that he was not very proud of his presented cake and that he could've done much better. He tied for 3rd with Natalie, but he seemed very happy for Hollis and Annika, who made it in the top two. Two years after the show, he got to participate in a special edition of Holiday Baking Championship. He got paired up with a chef named Jason Smith. He mentioned that after filming KBC, he went home and practiced his macarons that he failed to make in the episode "Bake Sale". In Holiday Baking Championship, Jackson successfully made his macarons and judge Duff said they were "spot on". Jackson and Jason were declared the Holiday Baking Champions and were together awarded $10,000.[3]
