"Spring Break Cakes" is the eighth and final episode of Season 2 of Kids Baking Championship and the 12th overall. It first aired on February 22nd, 2016.[1]

Plot[]

Description[]

In the final challenge, the three remaining kid bakers battle it out for the title of Kids Baking Champion while making spring break-themed cakes. Which baker will emerge the winner and take home $25,000?[2]

Summary[]

For the final challenge, the bakers are given the task of creating cakes based on common "Spring Break" destinations: the beach (Rebecca), the amusement park (Matthew) and camping (Yahshimabet). The twist is that they must include a curd filling in their cake.

Full Plot[]

At the start of the challenge, all three finalists must crack as many eggs in a bowl as they can with one hand in a small amount of time. The baker with the most whole eggs in their bowl gains the advantage of choosing their Spring Break theme, as well as choosing for the other two finalists. Matthew had the most whole eggs in his bowl, so he got to choose. For himself, he chose the amusement park. He then gave the beach to Rebecca, and camping to Yahshimabet. For her beach cake, Rebecca made a lemon chiffon cake with a strawberry buttercream with lemon and strawberry curd, decorated to look like the beach. For his amusement park cake, Matthew made a chocolate cake with an orange buttercream filled with an orange curd, decorated to look like a roller coaster car found at an amusement park. For her camping cake, Yahshimabet made a mocha cake layered with a chai spice cake, with buttercream and filled with orange curd and white chocolate ganache, decorated to look like a camping trip. In the end, Rebecca's beach cake impressed the judges enough to get herself declared the Kids Baking Champion, and given the $25,000 prize.[3]
